CWW has contributed as a role model for other women

Ten Winnipeg women's groups came together on March 27th 1894, to organize the Winnipeg Council, one of the first in Canada. At one time, there were nearly 100 federate or organizational members of Council. Today, with many of these organizations no longer existing, there are fewer federate members.

  • Advocates with other groups, politicians and businesses on issues to improve the quality of life in Winnipeg
  • Educates and informs members and the public on local issues
  • Makes presentations to Winnipeg City Council and commissions
  • Develops resolutions and policies 
  • Organizes community forums, programs and presentations

This gala was created to recognize the contributions women make to our communities across Manitoba.
