I, Brenda Buleziuk – CWW President and council members was proud to stand in support of residents at Lions Place, seniors fighting for their home. MB government has allowed the sale of one of the largest non-profit residential buildings in the province to a public firm.
Lion’s Place is a 287 suite building provides units with rent geared to income for tenants 55 and up. All of these tenants are at risk of being displaced, increase rents by the private sale to a Alberta-based firm. The MB government has refused to step in or do anything to ensure ongoing affordable housing for seniors and other Manitobans.
